Chairman's Statement for 2024 - Advancing CALEO's Legacy of Collaboration and Community Service

Updated: Jan 24

I hope this message finds you well as we embark on the journey of another year together. As the Interim Chairman of CALEO, I am privileged to share our annual statement, reflecting on our past achievements and outlining our vision for the future.

Quarterly meetings continue to be a cornerstone of our organization, and we were able to present them in a hybrid format for both in-person and virtual offerings best to meet the needs of our members and presenters.

CALEO's impact extends beyond our quarterly meetings. We held our 27th annual Training Symposium, which was our largest event to date, with over 200 officers from the U.S. and Canada attending the 3-day training. I am pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has been working on our 28th annual symposium from May 8-10, 2024.

In addition to these significant events, CALEO remains committed to community service. Our annual member’s summer social and luncheon provide opportunities for members to connect in a more relaxed setting.

Furthermore, our commitment to giving back is exemplified through charitable donations, with past contributions to organizations such as Project Share Niagara Falls Canada, Courage for Freedom and Western New York Heroes. This year, we look forward to continuing to support community charities and our members' families in their pursuit of post-secondary education through our scholarship program.

As we move forward into 2024, let us build upon the rich legacy of CALEO. Embrace the opportunities for collaboration, engage in our events, and contribute to the success of our dynamic community. Together, we will continue to make CALEO a beacon of excellence in law enforcement collaboration.

On behalf of the CALEO Board of Directors, I would like to thank you for your unwavering commitment and dedication.

Warm regards,

Clayton Newport

Interim Chairman, CALEO
